Brainstorming

Purpose

To encourage class participation on a class topic.

Procedure

Ask a question concerning the class topic.
Some examples of ways I use brainstorming are:

• What are some subpersonalities?
• What are some of the things that trigger us?
• In a [specified] situation that makes us angry, what other feelings might be under the anger?
• If you are carrying a burden of shame, how might it affect your life?
• What are some things you can do to keep yourself in a positive state of mind?

I then ask the men to respond pop-corn style ( just call out their suggestions) and I write a list on the board. I don't filter the list.
